Gameplay overview

1. Game start

The game takes only a moment to start.

At the beginning of the game, participants are divided into clans of four to eight players. The clan division can also be planned in advance.

Each player (or a pair) only needs a mobile device to join the game and their respective clan.

2. Playing

The game provides all the guidance you need. Game Info is always available, and you can also purchase additional Help using the points you earn.

The early levels are designed to help players master the core rules and gameplay mechanics, while the later levels focus on testing teamwork and collaboration skills.

3. Game results

The client’s representative receives a real-time results link to monitor the event’s progress — including clan and player scores, players’ answers and detailed game statistics. The same link stays accessible after the event for review and analysis.

Collaboration in the game

The game offers several ways for clan members to collaborate.

Each clan member is assigned a unique number, which determines their role during different phases of the game.

In the first level, players learn the core rules and gameplay mechanics. One player must provide the correct answers while the others consult the game rules.

The second level challenges players to work as true teammates. In this “Wall of Lights” puzzle, everyone has an equal role — success depends on cooperation and clear communication.

The final level presents players with four Mystery Boxes, each secured by four locks that require multi-step solutions to open. Players can choose to focus on a single box or tackle multiple boxes simultaneously.

Only the players with the correct assigned numbers can trigger the next steps in unlocking each lock.

Each step includes puzzles and challenges designed for onetwo, or four players. To succeed, the team must carefully plan the order of their actions — taking into account which players are required for each step.

One-player puzzles (examples)

Two-player puzzles (examples)

In the two-player puzzles and challenges, one player receives the assignment — often with additional hints revealed over time. The other player must act based on the assignment and the clues provided.

For example, the assignment might involve a historical event, and the other player must locate where it took place on the world map. Once they find the correct location, they’ll uncover a code that the first player must enter as the correct answer.

Four-player puzzles (examples)

In the four-player puzzles and challenges, one player receives the main assignment — often with additional hints revealed over time. The other players also receive unique hints, revealed over time, ensuring that each person holds a different piece of the puzzle. To succeed, players must communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to uncover the answer as quickly as possible.

Example: The assignment might be to guess the name of a movie.

  • Player 1 receives hints about style, tone, production.

  • Player 2 gets clues related to the style and technical aspects.

  • Player 3 learns about setting, objects, and motifs.

  • Player 4 is given information about the plot.

By combining their insights, the team can piece together the correct answer.

The Main Game Levels Explained

The Initiation

Every great adventure begins with understanding the world you’ve entered. In the first level, your mission is simple but vital — learn the essential rules of the game.

You’ll face questions that test your attention and understanding of how The Four Mystery Box Escape works. Each correct answer gives you a head start, earning you an early advantage over other clans.

But the real reward isn’t just points — it’s wisdom. By mastering the rules now, you’ll know exactly what to do in every challenge ahead — how to think, act, and work as one when the real tests begin.

So focus, learn, and prepare — your team’s journey through the Mystery Boxes starts here.

The Wall of Lights Challenge

Welcome to one of the most thrilling moments of the adventure — the Center Box “Wall of Lights” challenge!

Before you stands a glowing wall with four vibrant colors: green, orange, purple, and yellow. Each member of your clan controls only one color — and can see just four lights of it. With two switches at your command, you decide which two of your lights will shine.

But here’s the twist — teamwork is everything. Together, you must coordinate your moves to create two perfect lines of light — vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. Each line must include all four colors — one from every player.

When your clan succeeds and the two lines glow in unison, take a moment to celebrate — because you’ve unlocked the path to the next level!

The journey continues, leading you to the ultimate test: the four mysterious boxes waiting to be solved.

The image below illustrates the Center Box, where the switches on each side of the “Wall of Lights” are used to control the lights.

The Four Mystery Box Challenge

Your mission: solve up to four Mystery Boxes — each secured by four intricate locks waiting to be unlocked.

In front of you stand the elemental boxes: Air, Fire, Earth, and Water.

Each one has a single lever — and together, these four levers hold the key to your next victory.

Turn the Air and Fire levers to select which Mystery Box will awaken, and use the Earth and Water levers to decide which lock to challenge next.

But unlocking a lock isn’t simple. Each one has four steps:

  • Step 1: One player acts alone to begin the process.
  • Steps 2 & 3: Two players must join forces, working together.
  • Step 4: All four players unite — full collaboration is the only way forward.

The image below illustrates which players can unlock each lock at the different steps. For instance, in step one, player 1 can unlock the orange lock. In step two, the same lock can be unlocked by player 2 along with any other player. In step four, unlocking any lock requires the participation of all players.

Controls in the Boxes

In the “Wall of Lights” challenge, each player controls 4 lights with two switches shown below.

Controlling the lights is a process of trial and error — you need to toggle a switch and observe how it affects the four lights.

In the “Four Mystery Box” challenge, each player awakens boxes and selects locks with interconnected levers.

Awakening the boxes and selecting the locks is a process of trial and error — you need to move a lever and observe what happens.
